Search Marketing News and Looking Back through the Second Quarter of 2007
Catching up on some reading yesterday, it just seems that everyone that is writing/working in search engine optimization and search engine marketing is extremely busy, and I am in that group. The mix of client work, company work and personal responsibility just seems to have been stretching my available time to the limit in recent months and I apologize ahead to folks reading this blog, for I have not been able to put a lot of good information out there in a while. It’s not that I don’t have things to write, or information that I think would be valuable, it’s getting the time to get them into this blog (and not becoming homeless and divorced).
That being said, here are a few posts I wrote this past quarter that I felt were valuable for small business search marketing:
- If you are looking for a low cost, easy-to-use way to communicate to Internet users potentially interested in what your website has to offer, why not spend a little time contributing to Yahoo Answers. I’ll bet there is someone right now asking a question that you could provide an answer to.
- I had a great time at my first Search Engine Strategies conference and only wish I had met more people and taken better notes. Here’s a post I wrote that highlights some key points related to video search engine optimization.
- Prequel to the SEO Playbook - my initial list of resources for entrepreneurs getting started in the online world.
- It’s important to understand the objectives of your social media strategy and how it impacts search engine optimization. There’s a lot going on in social media right now and small business owners need to consider the “how”, “what” and “why” when it pertains to developing a social media strategy.
- Finally, here are some tips and ideas for effectively organizing your link building campaigns.
20 posts written this past quarter that made me think more, investigate deeper and helped provide motivation to succeed in this industry.
…and also probably made me sacrifice a few hours of much needed rest.

I tried to filter out any specific references I made in previous posts and there are also some articles I specifically did not include, only because I have some ideas for future blog posts that I would like to incorporate them in.
One final note - from now on I think I’ll date my bookmarks from here on out to make this task a bit easier for next quarter
